About me

I, Maximilian Konzack, have been a postdoctoral researcher in the biodiversity synthesis group at the German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research (iDiv) Halle-Jena-Leipzig. At iDiv, I worked on bridging computer science with biodiversity research. I am blogging about my research and programming endeavors.

In my PhD in computer science at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), I developed new analytical methods for trajectory data as visual analytics approaches. I contributed to movement ecology hereby through novel tooling by connecting geometric algorithms and visualization. My supervisors were Kevin Buchin and Michel Westenberg, and my promotor was Mark de Berg. Please check out the summary of our results and research.

Prior to that, I graduated with a Master of Science (MSc) in computer science at Free University Berlin (FU Berlin). My specialization was programming languages and compiler construction.

Since I have been enthusiastic and using open source much in the past, I participated at the Google's Summer of Code 2013. Within this 3 month project, I have developed a visualizer for JRuby's compiler and interpreter artifacts for the JRuby project.
